  • BMW bike models and other Classic Bikes

For Australian customers, MetalGear offers the refurbishment of discs for fitments of some older bike models such as BMW and other makes. Most customers who own such bikes prefer to keep their original centre.  Prices listed in your product and fitment list are including the refurbishment but do not include freight to us and back to you.

 Process of the refurbishment:
  • You need to send to us your disc including centre and [if] ABS ring
  • We will take your disc apart and the centre will be machined and bead blasted to bring it back to the original new look.  The new outer disc rotor is fitted
  • The complete disc is going through our quality control by being measured to ensure perfect braking performance
  • Time Frame:  approx. 3 to 4 working days after receiving your disc
  • Important!  You require new brake pads when you fit your new disc to your bike
  • Designed to be used in conjunction with MetalGear high quality Brake Pads

SOLID -N DISCS - non-venting

  • All MetalGear Disc Part No. stating –N, -KN or -WN are non-venting discs as an option
  • Some Classic Bikes originally came out with non-venting discs and, of course, MetalGear manufactures these discs as original and therefore the part number will not show an -N
  • Option of non-venting “N”  to the original venting pattern of some discs
  • Used for dirt bike riding as it has the benefit to create a full contact with the brake pad area and reduces the impact of picking up sand, dirt and mud which is normally thrown through the brake pads and calliper
